Console log:The M40e router provides a dense, highly redundant platform primarily for dedicated access aggregation at the edge and secondly for mid-size cores. This 40+ Gbps platform provides high-density access aggregation and offers greater redundancy in the switch fabric and Routing Engine. As such, it is suitable for environments such as the service provider edge.
The M40e router fits two per rack, housing 8 slots for up to 32 PICs witn speeds up to OC-48c/STM-16. For investmetn protection and smooth migration path, this platform houses three FPC types: one to accommodate M20 and M40 PICs, and the other two to accommodate hot-swappable M160 PICs.
